When you sell us your games, two things decide the offer: what’s included (the condition) and what shape it’s in (the grade). Pick both honestly when you build your buylist and the price you see is the price you get — our staff check every item when it arrives, and the final payout always follows what’s actually in the box.
Step 1 — What’s included?
Disc / Cartridge Only
Just the game itself — no original case, cover art, or manual. A game in a replacement case or sleeve still counts as disc/cart only. Games must be playable and not be scratched. Carts should have labels in good shape.
Complete
The game in its original case with the original cover art — and the manual for games that came with one. All in good condition. Missing any of those? Manual worn?Case rought? Choose disc/cart only instead.
Sealed
Brand new in the original factory shrink wrap, never opened. If the seal is broken or it’s been re-wrapped, it’s not sealed — grade it as complete. Sealed is genuine manufacturer sealed.
Step 2 — What shape is it in?
Grade the item on how it looks and plays, not how much you loved it. Check each part — the game, the label or artwork, the case, the manual — and let the worst part set the grade. Torn between two grades? Pick the lower one and you’ll never be disappointed at the counter.
Excellent
Looks barely played. Minor superficial imperfections only, visible up close.
- Disc / cartridge: no visible scratches under a light; shell has no cracks or discolouration.
- Label & artwork: clean and bright — no writing, stickers, tears, or sun fading.
- Case: no cracks, deep scuffs, or broken hinges; original artwork crisp under clear plastic.
- Manual: pages clean and tight — no creases, writing, or water marks.
- Function: plays perfectly, every time.
Good
Normal signs of use — the typical condition of a game that’s been played and cared for.
- Disc / cartridge: light surface scratches that don’t affect play; light shell wear.
- Label & artwork: minor shelf wear or small marks; still fully readable and presentable.
- Case: small scuffs or a worn spine; hinges intact; original artwork present.
- Manual: light creasing or page wear; complete and readable.
- Function: plays reliably.
Rough
Heavy wear, but it still works. If it plays, we’ll still make an offer.
- Disc / cartridge: deep or widespread scratches; scuffed or yellowed shell — but it still reads and plays.
- Label & artwork: writing, stickers, tears, or heavy fading.
- Case: cracked, chewed corners, broken hinge, or heavy scuffing.
- Manual: torn, creased, written on, or water-stained.
- Function: works — possibly with some coaxing.
Doesn’t work at all? If an item won’t power on, won’t read, or is missing essential parts, it doesn’t fit the grades above — bring it into a store and we’ll look at it in person. Items submitted that do not work may be discarded and you will not be paid for them.
Quick checklist before you submit
- Tilt discs under a light — scratches show up that you won’t see head-on.
- Hold the disc up to a light. Data Holes show up as light coming through the disc.
- Check the case is the original, with the original cover art inside.
- Look inside for the manual before calling it complete.
- Cartridges: check the label for writing, stickers, or tears. Some markings are ok but torn or defaced labels may result in a lower offer.
- Let the worst part set the grade — and when in doubt, go lower.
What happens when we check it
Every item is verified by our staff when it reaches the store — condition, completeness, and grade. If everything matches what you told us, you’re paid the quoted price. If something’s different (a missing manual, a rougher disc than described), we adjust the offer to match the real condition before anything is finalized. Honest grading up front means no surprises.
